1. Listening device lawman refines over time. Earphones. So, 'earp' (lawman) 'hones' (refines) but where does the word 'time' fit in?

2. Bit of a party girl in next cubicle Spooner's spoken off. So, 'new labour' - a spoonerism of loo neighbour. But where does the word 'girl' fit in.

Surely the clue would read just as well without the word 'girl', indeed better. Ditto the word 'time' in the previous clue

A girl can only use a cubicle. A boy can use a urinal?
