I don't see any obvious anagram in the title, but I'm stumped by this puzzle and so far only have 5 of the 8 missing letters.
I really need a nudge to get going.
I completed the puzzle despite only finding 7 of the 8 clues with single letters missing. There is no need to find the "useful name". I don't understand the title but I am quite sure my solution is correct.
I've solved most of the clues but the thematic adjustment eludes me. I can see that a number of clues are too long but can't see which ones to alter or how?
If you look at the very long answers, you'll see that they have certain significant similarities - and some other answers have similar properties. Those are the ones that need altered.
They all contain something. If you've got 'Applause at pub for season's new growth' and write that under your last one in the list above, it should be more obvious. Hope this helps.
