I'm not getting on the same wavelength as the setter at all with this. "She'd tell you what to do" - that is a poor and very vague definition in my opinion and now we have to understand that cloudy means c and afternoon means a. The surface of the clue reads well.

Also "Watches TV with..." is poor as TV is unnecessary there.

Maybe if I could get the first clue it might be different:
They're found in school, endlessly jumping (5).

HI Ginge & Sudokulover - thanks for the help.

Went to Loire for Witsun - trying to catch up on this one - think I'm in the same boat as Orson.

Still no idea on theme - down to last 10!:

* Mr. Malik's set back One Direction or is he only joking? (4)
* Tee off at Open venue giving edge to Monty (4)
* Upright academician's off his trolley, by the sound of it (6)
* Short-legged sheep next to a speckled hen (6)
* Mature for one to exchange $100 for Australian traveller (6)
* Fired head of Tesco after supermarket is seen to be out of date (4)
* Legless lecturer's in bed, not all there (6)
* Tiny digression like this could swing by-election

Tee off... Roon, perhaps? It means strip', so maybe 'edge'. It could be Troon, Open venue, with the T dropped (Tee off).
