Answer is MARSUPIAL but I am too thick to see why. It uses letters from "slump" wtth ARIA left over

take the F (end of grief) out of " a (fair) " ... leaves you with aria to mix with slump

Its an anagram (after turmoil) of A FAIR SLUMP with no end of grieF - in other words no F

As a 1st time user of forum I am very impressed.
