Hi

I'm not a big cryptic crossword doer, but was very pleased with myself for finishing a recent one in the Metro newspaper.

I even got right ?L?S?R? as CLOSURE, by guessing. I now know this to be the correct answer to the clue: "When this is applied, a division will follow". I still don't understand how this resolves to CLOSURE and would never have got this without having the crossing letters.

Please can somebody explain?

I can feel my embarrassment building already!

Thank you.

Closure

"a closure motion"

That was really obscure, fredbloggs (translation - I had no idea) - congratulations on finishing the puzzle despite that!
