EV 1218: Really enjoyed this one - well done Stick Insect - we have a three legged rescue cat who performs similarly.

EV 1217: Still struggling in TL & BR hand corners. 8 oo 11 thematics, but still can't get in to clues.

27. A four letter word, common in crosswords, for check - drop the last letter+anagram of 'uses'. Second edition is the definition.

34 loser of the race - aesop fable - change the first letter - defn weight in net - missing letter C
32 confection is the defn - think ice cream- starts with su - reverse of us- missing letter N
30 bit of cloth is defn - the scottish wool is the middle 2 letters - this is a THEMATIC one
26 - another THEMATIC one - 5 letter word for public then lose the last letter
16 R is missing - delightful person/darling is the defn (think bees)
31 whimper is the defn - A is extra - synonym for bolts of lightning reversed
6 Te in the middle (tyne heartlessly) - C is extra - a complete central absence is the defn
