I have _N_S , and I see from a previous thread that the answer is 'ANIS'

I can see that 'anis' is part of 'disorganised' , but where does 'cuckoo or just ' come in ? Can you help me parse this one please

I have S_A_L_ , cannot see a word that fits clue so maybe some letters wrong ?

STAB LE? Definition seems a bit off.

parsing - try = stab + le
