I wouldn't say that I particularly want to be *kind* to my friends. :-) But I definitely need to be fair.

As for your fiendish clue, I'm stuck. But still thinking...

is it a word written backwards (using the the word up) to give a fiend?
bornfromanegg - those are two features on this forum that happen once a week - to have a bit of fun. type them into the search facility that should be top right of the page.

clue. Are you saying that:

Down clue (5)

is also Hades? Is it an indirect indicator - "Down" meaning "Hades"? If so, then that is fiendish!

Exactly! Must say this weeks PR is particularly hard - if you look back with the search function you will see why the competitions are so addictive!
