Thanks for replies Mottram and scorpiojo. I didn't think I had an N in my answer and I am sure my 12A is correct as its an anagram of trousersuitip.

Good morning Mondrian
Yes, your 12a is correct, giving you the r for the down clue.
Continuous rain down here on the South coast and very windy

Thanks jazzgirl. Will keep 12A answer and work on 2D....... Your weather sounds like what we usually get here!!! However not yet today as it is blue skies and sunshine just now. I expect all your plants are enjoying a good drink!!

Thanks jazzgirl. I went wrong by putting presto for 10A which sort of fitted the bill, but not quite,! Unlike the correct answer.

Hello Mondrian and others discussing 2D. I believe I have
the only possible correct answer,i.e. due north, but if it is
an anagram of thunderh, where does the o come from?
I have enjoyed reading everyone's posts this week, and feel
that I am getting to know the RT regulars.

..."house" (verb) is the indicator to place the "o" inside the anagram of thunder

Further by the way to chrise's comment on the difference on the difference between the Catholic OT & the Protestant one. I had a heck of a job with my Jewish bible (no OT because we don't have an NT). There Job follows Proverbs. Try fitting that into 6 spaces:-)
