Because of time pressures I am completely out of practice with EVs. I still have not got 6 across ( scraps??? ) and both 8 and 10 down although I know what the redundant letters are in each case. A pointer or two in the right direction would be much appreciated.

Hi alwayspuzzled, I've no longer got the puzzle but 6a rings a bell, scraps is correct. Pedal = p in s + a five letter word for accident.
If no one else comes to your aid if you post the other clues I'm sure it'll jog memories.
