John, Nell is a common abbreviation for Helen and I think the 'tba' is 'to be arranged', something you wait for, so
Ne tba ll.

13A NELL (diminutive of Helen) containing 'to be advised' (TBA)

No longer have my grid, but have a feeling STRAP was the answer to a different clue from 16 if that helps

Skyewalker, thanks for the TBA info- I 've always known what it meant, but never wondered what the letters stood for! Yes, the answer to 16 definitely wasn't Strap.

By the way, Malone, please don't think I was correcting you. Hadn't even seen your post. Computer internet connection knackered and am using a smart telly and the remote to post. By the time I've managed to type a reply to a post, there can be a few already added to the thread, making mine unnecessary or irrelevant.

If it helps:

16D Wrong score turned game (6) - SIN (wrong) + NET (score) backwards is a game.

18D Lochgelly roles reversed (5) - a Lochgelly is a tawse or strap and it's also PARTS backwards.

No offence taken, skyewalker. I knew Netball was correct and parsed it only for the benefit of the person with the query - only then did I realise I'd never checked exactly what TBA meant!

My last input. I do not use Pressreader, not sure if I am signed up. I Google Herald Online, select Herald Digital. The front page comes up. If I try to change the page, puzzles say I am asked to purchase the paper if I wish to continue. If I do then I get the edition of the day and can scroll to any page.
Hope this helps. Regards

@peediebreeks

I think you must have a different subscription level from me. As I don't have any iThingies, I don't do "Apps" and am on the basic "Web Only" level. "Herald Digital" doesn't appear on the menu bar. You must be seeing a different menu with additional features.
