I have two, very puzzling clues left:
21D Batting hero, not No 2, English runs accumulator (6)
T?T??? First T might be dodgy - it's from 20A Welcome cry - greet?

28A Section extracted from bird's crest. (5) R?D?? Maybe ridge but no idea why.
Any (strong) hints appreciated.

Definition to 21 looks like accumulator. Think of an Englandcricketer without second letter, then E for English and r for runs?

28a. get a 9 letter word for a bird and then take part of it away.

Ridge looks kosher section - part away from partridge gives ridge crest?
