I have a complete grid and I'm happy that everything is correct, and I also have 8 of the 10 misprints. Assuming that I have correctly identified the misprints I think I know what the second word might be but no ideas about the first word which is making me think I've gone wrong.

Is anybody else struggling with this or am I missing the blindingly obvious? After a fairly straightforward gridfill I thought the endgame would be easier - could be me though!!

Any nudges in the right direction would be much appreciated, thanks!

I have 3/4 full grid - stuck in the TRHC.
Need hints on 9a F?R?A?????, 15a ON????S & 7d ???O

9a def is an old word for perishing, components are: in quest of + free gift
15a def is bulging in the middle, it's a two word anagram and I think one of the words has a misprint
7d def is data, it's an anagram but the word you anagram needs something removing first

The relevant clues for the first word are 5,14,15,22 and 28 across. I think that there is an error in 15 (or at least in the online version) in that the correct letter is omitted altogether rather than misprinted.

I'd got 14, 15 and 22 but wasn't entirely sure about the others. Now to try and work out what the misprints are and then make sense of the endgame!

Have had a full grid since Tue - put it down but can't get back in to it.

no the misprints spell out "dumpy digit"
hint - for the misprints and where they might have come from ... have a look at your keyboard
