Only one to finish - 16 A "Willing to transpose endings say " * E * T * T *. I can only find one word to approximate to the clue, starting with 'R', but am not sure if it fits the clue ?

No, not R. You would probably be more familiar with the opposite, starting "in.."

That was my last one and took me too long to realise the "endings" !

I spent a long time over it too, but mainly because I was trying to fit it into the wrong slot - I checked and re-checked the conflicting letters, but they were still right!

Morning all, if you are still on this site. I remain stuck on one tiny word. 10a Wading bird to hit back (4) I have ?N?T. Am wondering if my 1D is wrong to have second word starting with N. Such a lovely day here and I shouldn't be bothering about this but it does keep niggling away at me!!!
