Hi this is my first post hope you can help

I am doing a quiz where all the answers are found in a English garden. The answers are all plants, insects, birds etc.
An example is
Remember me
Answer forget me not

I am stuck on two

1. Facial feature

2. I can be sweet, but thorny

Anyone any ideas would be very helpful

Forgot t say that both answers are 5 letters

Old man's beard?
Briar? (There is variety sweetbriar) and briars are thorny.
