Can anyone tell me what the word SYNCOPHANT means? The clue is:-

Plants for syncophants (8) ???e????

I have looked this word up in the dictionary but can't find it as it is spelled here.

Maybe sycophants? - people who Creep to another - creepers being snaswer. My Grek is not great but seem to remeber it's from "fig showers"- people who would offer to show strangers the best figs.

or even creepers??
