I've found the eastern hemisphere quite challenging this weekend and normally finish this on Saturday, but a bit of a carry over and I'm stick with the last two in the south east corner.

53a. Off and on, had silly idea about Scottish girl (6) E?L???
The fifth letter is common to both answers.
