Thanks again Andy. 18 &25D and 24A and I'm finished. A cheeky way, I know, but getting impatient. Help appreciated.

Naughty Bill but seeing as it's you:
18d) snitch
25d) Watt
24a) thwart

Let me know if you want any parsings.

Thanks again Andy. Thankfully I've finished it now but would like the parsing for what I've got for 2D, which is AVER. I know it's a synonym for STATE, but can't see the parse in the clue.

I should have finished by saying ave (farewell) + r (king)
state - aver

Re Andyc's answer on 25d and24 across, I got both of these, but would like to know the parsings please. Would have thought that the clue for 24a should have read ENDLESS rather than POINTLESS, i.e. th instead of the, or does pointless mean the same? Re 25d, I understand that Watt = power, but please explain total answer.
