24 Rissole. R(end of 'wrapper') is/in clue + Sole/one.

I got RISSOLE also...but I think this is bad clue, as a rissole is not a pastry!

I didn't like Rissole = pastry much, but Chambers does define 'rissole' as 'a fried ball or cake'. And 'pastry' is defined as 'a small cake', so it seems OK - just!

Thank you, but not in Chambers as such. Poor clue.

Hi have just spoken to She Who Knows!!!!

A rissole is a mixture of chopped veg, meat ,other stuff. Bound with egg -- and patted into a flat round 3/4 inches across and 3/4inch deep. Suitable for frying or baking in the oven.

It could be called a PATTIE -- but not a pasty or pastry as they include a Pastry wrapover or base (as in Tart).

Therefore the clue is flawed and I should demand my money back.
Just back from 3rd gdaughters bthdy party at the Big house.
Also present an tame owl, fox, snake and Skunk. I was completely overshadowed.

Have a good week Thea(o)
