10 across: Bear to experience sore head: (6)
I have s?f?e? - and take it answer is suffer. Is the point that suffer = bear contains the letter s = sore head or I am missing something more here?

21 down: A certain King entertains a maiden - one's an animated character (5)
I have b?m?i - and take it answer is bambi. I see am = a maiden and final i = one's , but where does the certain King come in? Definitely missing the point here. Any help gratefully received. Thanks

I could well be wrong - I hadn't parsed it until you asked, I just saw Bambi as the answer!

None of you experts going to comment on 10 across in rogerjw first post?

Have no idea what the experts will do, but looks like a double definition playing on the phrase "bear with a sore head". Bear- to suffer as in to tolerate (suffer fools gladly) and "to experience sore head" as in suffer?

I agree with you, ab. I have looked for something a git more subtle with no success.
