Is it too early to appeal for help? I have completed the grid, found the instructions, found 4 spaces but then cannot get to grips with final sentence (not the use a pencil bit). Only those of you doing this puzzle could understand my frustration here.

sorry jogamel, haven't quite completed the grid yet.
I think I might have misunderstood part of the preamble.
Does it mean ALL clues in one half of the grid have a blank, or just some?
And can you give me a hint with the first word in 1 ac please?

I've completed the grid too. I'm not totally sure what you're supposed to do but if you replace the blank cells in one half of the grid with the letters in the same positions as the blank cells from the other, you can complete and see the four words that I think make up the final instruction. And these four words do comprise 19 letters.

Excuse me butting in....

Nelson, 1 A is basically just an anagram of words in the clue and a single-letter abbreviation for another word in the clue.

Muraria I only have four blank squares at/in 7, 10, 13 and 14. What do I move where?

Jogamel, I have the same four blank squares. If you follow the two instructions given by the first and last letters of the extra words, the one half of the grid literally sits on top of the other, with the blanks (holes) replaced by the letters in the other half.
With the blanks filled, four words appear in the grid, 3of 4 letters and 1 of 7..as I say, that's how I have interpreted the preamble. Hope this helps.

If anyone else is reading this there is a gap in one of the 1 downs also.

I've finished and got the message/instruction but it's not entirely clear to me what one is supposed to do as it seems to refer to itself. Still, I won't be entering this one as I'm one of the winners listed on page 46 today. The bottle is in my kitchen waiting to be opened.
