Just have four to go; would welcome hints please:

35 deform a shell (6) (I can't make the clues given already fit this - perhaps I'm being very stupid)
38 Big Guys with some tobacco from the depths (5,5). I have a possibility for the second word but can't find anything to go with it.
97 River horse taking drug (5) Would like this to be the usual short word for a river horse but can't find it as a drug.
98 Refreshed, successor to Mohammed takes to the road (8) Have tried combinations of anagram of one of the successors of the Prophet + st, rd, but haven't got anywhere.

Thank you, both. It was the plural of 'guys' that was throwing me; the only thing I could think of was 'screw'. Got it now.

35. It's a shell: remove the first letter and then change the spelling slightly and it becomes a fish.

97. I was stuck on this 'obvious' answer for a long time as the full version contains 'pot' but as it's a river animal, it didn't really fit the heading under the sea. So I used the initials of River Horse and, with an insertion, it became a drug.

98. Refreshed implies anagram - find a general word for the successor to Mohammed and then end with abbreviation for road.

Thanks, lady bee, I'll have another think about those. I'd seen the earlier posts re 35 and can see the answer you're referring to, but wasn't sure that it was precise enough for Gen2; it seems to be doing two things whereas only one is implied. Severe toothache is probably throwing my brain into turmoil! re 98, that's what I'd been doing but couldn't come up with an answer.

Thanks, got 98 now. I was trying to use specific names and couldn't get enough letters to fit. And hadn't realised that the generic name was so closely linked in time. It's good to learn something new!

Have found a different answer to 97 which seems to fit - realised that I needed a fish, so looked through 5- letter ones in Bradford list. Thought I'd done that already, but perhaps not.
