Hi Trevor (and grid), isuant (heraldry) looks spot on:
su(e) in isa + nt (new testament), "e" extra.

Might the other be robots an anagram of booster with the "e" extra. The old definition of robot and jack are machines replacing men in terms of manual work ?

thanks ginge, i was chasing my tail all the way up me own ...ahem, i just couldn't quite grasp it.
robots looks good to me.
only, 'issuant' loses a letter after the parsing and 'robots' loses a letter before the parsing - if that makes sense?
over to Grid.

Hi grid, without knowing this puzzle are the additional letters used to give a message, phrase or instruction ? If so by default you should be able to ascertain the "extra" letter otherwise I've ran out of ideas. "Bootses also crossed my mind since booties is a term for Royal Marines but couldn't find it anywhere to justify it, sorry.

Thanks for help. The extra R fits with the phrase, so it will have t be bootses.
