Hit a brick wall now with eight to go:

Have eight of the eleven letters: A I G I N R P K, but can't see a pattern.

Any hints/pointers to get me going again would be appreciated.

Hi again crackabilly, I've only given limited help pointing out errors to allow you a chance to go from there but I can provide more should you require.

Only 7 of your 8 are part of the 11, the "r" is wrong.
Also 21a, "p" & 10d, "d" are wrong.
The phrase cryptically tells how to complete the thematic of which 25, 33 and 39 across & 10 down are. There are others which you may have answered but can't see how without knowing the phrase.

Perhaps if I give the 7 letters you have in their correct position in the 11 letter phrase would help ?

Even before completing it might also help in determining all the thematics is count the number of unchecked and mutually checked in the thematic you have already identified to tally with those given in the preamble.

First letter is incorrect. There is a misprint in the definition which is 'Ome may get over fond' and the first 7 letters are an anagram folled by a word for drink. Hope this helps.
I have finished but cant see the word on the outside of 39a is it stoop or spoot? neither seem to fit rquired definition.
