Is everyone finding this straightforward?
20d South American rover rests up in catalpa leaves (7, two words)
Could be one or two (consecutive) misprints in clue.
Getting confused by clashes

No it wasn't at all easy.

Misprint is o. Should be river.

The answer is la plata which is a reverse hidden.

The way I did it was to get a few down answers then I could see the across answers I had didn't work.

There are 2 types of across modifications- look at what the 2 types of answers have in common and this will show you what answers to leave out before you get the quote from misprints.

Hello Crackability,

26a RATIFY (gratify with g missing ie not starting)
22d NECROSE (Northern EC (city) ROSE rebelled). T is wrong letter in Celts

Look for similarities in the across answers.
