How did Desmond affect you on the island? We haven't heard of any problems.

Haven't had any golf for over a fortnight now - course closed. How about you?

Hello Chris....

Well we have had local flooding the pub remains closed but our garden shed was the only thing underwater here. A bridge collapsed in Laxey taking a bus with it ........fortunately the schoolchildren who were on it had just disembarked!

Golf-wise I've not played for a month the course has been closed for the last two Saturdays. It's miserable.

My goodness - how fortunate that no-one was injured in the bus.

Did the shed get washed away, or does it just need cleaning up?

Although we're not far away, we missed the worst of it. We had a pond in the garden, but it drained away without causing much damage.

The shed remains intact. In truth, I think it was mostly our own fault as we had allowed a collection of roof tiles and garden bins etc. to congregate around the back. Once we had cleared it the water ran away and we made a gulley in the sod hedge. The lawnmower even started first time before we put it away again. Good luck for us there.
