Good Morning Mondrian
I've only just started on RT51, having just landed back in UK a couple of days ago, from sunny South California. Brrrr.....11c here and having to adjust from basking in 22c plus.
For 11a the def. is a Heraldic creature, supposedly hatched by a serpent from the egg of a male hen ! First four letters is the male hen.

Yes, there's a ton of fallen leaves all over the garden. No damage thankfully. My heart goes out to the people in Cumbria. The holiday was just a family visit, not much sightseeing, just catching up and relaxing.

Thanks for your concern, but we missed the worst of it - 20 or 30 miles to the north and west of here was the closest point of major disruption.

The golf course was even open this morning!

I've just looked at the Christmas crossword. It's a Jumbo, so the printing of the clues is very nearly too small to read!

State is the definition, think USA.

.......and, as is always the case in a post pointing out a misprint, I've made one too by missing out the "s" from "includes"!
