The letters I have are ?r?a?, broad would make sense in one way, but don't understand "earthy"

One that I don't see all the parsing for.

1d Crime of lost barrier (5)
?E?C?
I've put FENCE, but I don't see where the "lost" comes into it

Morning all. There seem to be more entries still going on for last week's puzzle than the current one. Incidentally I have collected my Christmas RT and am trying to restrain myself from starting it. Meantime for No 51 I am stuck on 6A Instruct boy to surround old city on Earth (9) and have ?E???R???. Also stuck on 11A Lift up a second heraldic animal (10) and I have C???A?????. With all those blanks I am obviously stuck on others but maybe I can get some of the missing down ones.

Chrise. Heard about all the dreadful flooding in what I take to be your area. Hope you are ok. We have yet another miserable looking day here.

In this instance your help much appreciated by me! I am also appreciative of explanation for Dolly in last week's puzzle being a cricketing term!! My brothers played cricket. I should have paid more attention!
