2 Elephant, creature. Anagram of 'the planet', without the last 't' ('endlessly).
3 Conifer - confer, with I/one inside.

Unfortunate that "elephant" didn't see ELEPHANT!

ablative and vocative would both fir 1. Can't explain either, though (except that they are "cases" in grammar).
