It looks like you're supposed to remove something from Portugal but I can't see what.

48a Returned artillery shot of inferior quality (6) - TRASHY (Inferior
quality)

6d Person on telly regularly with a saucy show (6) - PERTLY - I think (Saucy show)

I think it's TeLlY (regularly) but I don't know if PER is an abbr. for Person, or if there's something else going on.

Hi Brendan, I recall from previous discussions re the jumbo you don't have a Chambers and you'll find a lot of uncommon, archaic or obscure definitions or abbreviations used in Listener can be confirmed by using such.
As = so +L + sue reversed
Portugal = Pg removed from rap group then anagrammed
art (artillery) reversed + shy (shot)
Per is an abbreviation for Person + alternate letters of telly as you state.

TRASHY returned artillery (ART written backwards), shot (SHY as in have a shot/go at)

PERSON abbreviation of person with TLY added
