Quite few dodgy clues in this one, watchout for the rogue hyphens in particular (24a, 31a, 15d and 33d) - the setter must have shares in them !!

Also the anagram indicator in 2d seems to have slipped into the definition ?

It is E for English and Among, found in. 'Rejected' = reversed.

One definition, in Chambers, of 'down' is an undulating upland tract of pasture-land' - so uplands are downs!

I am not very good at parsing - you might have noticed?
