7 Down. Get Judy, having fired a northern DJ stand-in (10). I have u-d-r-t-d- and presume answer is understudy (stand-in). But cannot parse cryptic part. Help appreciated. Thanks

UNDERSTAND JUDY - A N DJ = understudy

I worked it out as UNDERSTAND (as in GET) plus JUDY, omitting A, N (for Northern) and DJ (for Disc Jockey).
