Excellent clues all around! Edging out the redoubtable ixion by a single vote is the to-be-reckoned-with mrw with:

Ruth and I going camping with no mod cons (8,2)

The prize is a simple one, just a bit of roughness in one of my favorite places for (8,2) (ixion would need a very thick blanket here). How I wish I could be there this weekend!
