All finished apart from 6d. I think the middle letter is e but I cannot confirm the word on google.

Also, although not needed to complete the crossword I cannot find the clues that contrbute the o and h of the final word of the work. Any ideas?

My 6 D has an 'e' in the middle and it's in Chambers.

I didn't get the 'o' and the 'h' but I think the 'h' has to come from 38 D (as I've used 36 D ( a 't') and there doesn't seem to be anything in 37 D).

Apologies to those of you without the crossword - it is very thematic and there's a long preamble, so it wouldn't be easy to explain.

6d trema, the "m" being one of the vertices. The "o' from 26d (o)ar and 38d (h)er.
