Welcome to Peer Review No 183, the weekly competition to compose the best cryptic clue, judged by your fellow contestants.

You may enter as many clues as you wish and everybody is welcome to have a go. The more, the merrier!

Feel free to explain your clue if you think it will help, and to request another setter to parse their clue.

Everybody who enters may vote for their favourite entry, though not an entry of their own, of course. Please include the post number of the clue which you are selecting.

Please post your clues by 3.00 p.m. Friday 26th June when voting opens.

The voting deadline is 11.00 p.m. same day (This may be extended into the wee small hours for our few Antipodean contestants) and the winner will be announced shortly after this.

The entry with the most votes wins and its composer hosts the next week's competition.

The host has a deciding vote in the event of a tie and may change the rules, & times, if necessary.

It is customary for the host to award an online prize when declaring the winner.

This week’s answer to be clued is:

MUMPSIMUS (9)

Best of luck, everyone.
