Last three solutions evade me:

6D Russians pull the strings of these airlines, removing head of one as leaders of Iran, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan fly in. (10). -A---A-N-S;
12A A cow's lost in heavenly position (5). --O-E;
3D Left to travel from London to Norwich (4) -O-E.
Any ideas?

Many thanks, Ginge and Jazzgirl. I had N for the K in balalaika from the16A clue: Run through Arnold's opening points towards the end. (6). I had answer (run through) with points of the compass in the start of Arnold (AR). I'm lost on the parsing of skewer which is obviously right.
