EVen I have managed it with only a dictionary and no use of Quick Solve so it must be easy or else I am getting better (unlikely). However at least I can get on with the much neglected garden now! A nice warm day here for once in a long time.
I just picked it up today. Easy, apart from the embarrassingly long time it took me to see 22a. I was obsessed with "outside of timber" meaning TR, so I tried TRUE for "quite" (wondering why UE was a knot!)
You think you were embarrassed Chrise (hope you enjoyed Italy )? I just started it last night. Stuck for ages on 23ac, playing with March & Oder. I even tried October & forgot all about May! 21d "Quickly draw a pastry case" is my problem . The only word I can see is 'puff ' but can't see why? ? ?
Thanks Jazzy. I thought of those but didn't like 'em! As far as I was concerned puff is more the exhalation as in puff of wind and the opposite of pant. While puff pastry ain't necessarily a case until it's made into one but I'm a pedantic old...!
Fairly easy except I am stuck on 19d and 24a
19d Shortened box, allowed to spill, likely to be empty (5) ?E???
24a Confused chief left in top city (9) ?I?H?I???
