Thanks, Syzygy, enjoyed - and a good excuse to delay the lawn mowing.
Last in were V&W.

Not bad, but much easier than it appeared at first glance.
I started entering from B to the end with maybe half a dozen blanks.
Perhaps the crosses were too obvious. Simple logic as to where they would fit.

@Aristo - liked those too & D2, F1, K1, O2, Q.
F & O have this undercurrent which finally broke in Colorado, but this is almost 2 years old.
Canada, meh.

@Mattrom - V & W were a problem for me too.
Better tend to that grass, eh? Plays havoc with good intentions.
(-;

Ironically, last one in was A ! What this puzzle is all about. Duh.

Thanks syzygy, a great way to spend the train journey between boozers. My personal favourites are A, B10, K(4,3), W(7) and my 5 star O(6).

Cheers for the heads up on this earlier Syzzie, just conquered the rascal, surprisingly, the last two to drop were B (6) & R (7) - easier than some but just didn't see them.

Favourites: K (4,4), O (6), V (8) - pennydrop, X (6 & 5), Z (7), and both of the 10 letter clues.

I did think of Marty at M (6), and our Scottish outpost at S (7)

Never heard of H (6) but thought it may be a neighbour of aristo's.

Cheers again Syzzie.

It really is hard to choose favorites when there are so many corkers.
Les: We're surrounded by horribly expensive prep schools. Just here in little Massachusetts we have Phillips Andover, Deerfield, Concord, Milton, St. Mark's, Groton, etc. Choate is in Connecticut. FD Roosevelt went to Groton, the Bushes went to Phillips Andover, Kennedy went to Choate... you get the idea. It's hard to believe there are so many people with so much money.

Thank you all.

Interesting to see which clues caught your attention. Perhaps we need a Like button.

Just kidding. Voiced my opinion re that on another thread.

Overall, quite a number of smooth surface reads. These guys are pros.

Till next time.
