Well that didn't last long! Must have got very lucky early on!

Haven't quite finished yet but done most of it and got the theme. Great crossword for me with lots of clever answers woven in.

And, in the theme, the 'works' by the 'group' is indeed splendid stuff.

How annoying. I've only solved six clues and I've "got it". I normally enjoy a good struggle with the Genius. Still, very inventive theme.

Any help/hint for middle letter of 21d please?
