Can anyone help me with these2 cryptic clues please ?

1.Make no progress (4,4) m??? , ?i??
the cryptic clue is " Tread water on dry land ! "

2. Weak looking (5) W????
the cryptic clue is " Very thin, having little more than half the body "

2. Weedy - Wee/little and half of 'boDY'.

Mark time?

does anyone know how to get to the answer " mark time " from the cryptic clue Please ?

If this is the answer, it's not a very good clue, but "mark time" could also mean "march on the spot" - i.e. tread in the same place with each foot. "Tread water" can be used to mean "stay where you are".
