Hi, Rusty!
I haven't heard of Edith Appleton......but I am supposing , as she is referred to as "Sister", that she is a wartime nurse?
Is the book written along similar lines to Lyn MacD's "The Roses of No Man's Land"?
That too is in diary form.
I think that is my preferred book out of all the ones that I have read by Lyn MacD!
I have only a hundred pages remaining in "Human Traces" - by Sebastian Faulks
His characters outline many theologies and principles about various mental diseases..........
I was interested to read in the "Notes and Acknowledgements" that although the characters about whom he writes are all fictitious, the import of what is said about medical conditions is by "real" doctors whose genuine names are given, and whose views either quoted or referred to are actually fact.
This makes the book (plot) all the more enthralling.
P.S. Forgot to tell you.......my book - "Centennial" - has arrived from the U.S!
Very good condition - and hasn't it arrived soon?
