Good morning, Rusty!
The island retreat sounds good!
I am thinking a holiday right now would be very nice..........
I am glad all is well with the girls - I trust you are all looking after each other?
Did they come to visit you last night in lieu of your son?
Well........this morning, we have to rectify yesterday's fiasco - and take the dog to the groomer on the correct day this time!
Poor dog.....she thought all her Christmases had come at once when we turned away from the groomer's yesterday, and went to the park instead!
She does so hate being bathed!
And although I brush and comb her each day, she has never accepted that grooming is for her own benefit!
Ah well, onwards and upwards, as they say....... now where did that expression come from....?
We have to be there at 10 o'clock......

Hello, Ros!
You are about early!
Are you going out for a walk?

Am almost always up before 6, elle!
Yes, been for a walk later than usual. All the tiny 4 year olds in their new uniforms making their way to school with their mums. I saw 5 boys, no girls! Not even one dog walker, though.
Tally is going to be really cross with you when she sees what she's in for this morning!

Good afternoon, Elle!
Yes, they say it is a small island but very nice.
I am getting worn out with kindness from my family.
My older son visited today and my grandson is calling for me tomorrow to go for a bacon roll.
Dame Sarah won Olympic gold last evening.
I like her.
I found The Times crossword daunting today.
Took me ages.
Never knew Martha's Vineyard was an island!
Wonder who Martha was?

Good afternoon, Rusty!
Yes, you are having a busy time with family visitations.
But that is nice!
I get confused with your two grandsons.......who belongs to whom?
How lovely that they like spending time with you.
You have an excellent relationship with all your young ones.
I am sure that is because you pay attention to them and listen to what they have to say.
Yes, Dame Sarah did very well! Her 12th Olympic Gold medal!
Jonny Peacock is competing tonight.
The Paralympics looks to be well covered by Channel 4 - I am looking forward to watching !
I thought that Martha's Vineyard was so called after the daughter of an explorer?
I could have this wrong.....?

Hello, Elle.
You may well be right regarding Martha.
I can only remember one grandson.
Have I another one?
There are a heap of girls, though!
The one I remember is calling for me at 9.30 tomorrow.
There is a move on, I think.
Meeting me early so he can get out later to see his pals and go to football.
Dame Sarah is a class act.
Diamond League tonight.
Eilidh and Eilish are running.
Hope they go well!

Hi, Rusty!
Now this is becoming very worrying........I take the dog to be groomed on the wrong day, I see grandsons where there aren't any...........!
I shan't get to see the Diamond League in Brussels until tomorrow.
It is showing on the BBC at 1.15 pm, with the Great North City Games at Gateshead immediately afterwards.
A good afternoon!
It is a pity though that this will be the last Diamond League.
How is the US Open tennis going?
I haven't managed to see any of it!

Hello, Elle!
I am a big fan of the NHS.
i went to local hospital two weeks ago and convinced the consultant to discharge me. She did, with some reluctance, and said she would tell my GP to put me on a permanent prescription.
She would do it electronically.
So, today I phoned GP practice to see if they had processed the prescription.
Yes, said receptionist, we sent it to your chemist on 23rd August.
The very same day I saw Consultant.
i think that is just superb!
Pity nobody told me, though!
Jamie Murray and partner are into final of the doubles.
That is all I know.
I have not watched Diamond League this night.

Hi, Rusty!
You didn't tell me that you had "persuaded" the Consultant to discharge you and that she had done so "reluctantly"?
I was under the impression that she had done so, because you no longer needed treatment and you were "better".
(I even remarked at the time that you must be feeling relieved that she thought you fit enough to be discharged! You didn't correct my wrong assumption!)
Now you are no doubt going to tell me here to mind my own business.......but are you sure that was wise?
Surely you should be guided by what your Consultant thinks?
(Do I need to duck? are you about to throw something at me?)
I wouldn't have said anything were I not concerned.
Yes, our prescriptions at the GP's surgery are dispensed like that!
Brilliant stuff!

Hello, Elle!
No ducking required!.
I am slightly improved since I first saw her several years ago, but not enough to merit regular visits, in my mind.
In future I can make an appointment to see her if I choose.
Better that way I think.
She was quite happy to see me go.

Hi, Rusty!
Umm...okay......I'm glad I don't need to duck!
I am watching the Paralympic swimming at the moment.
Susie Rodgers has just won a Bronze medal!
I've only recently switched on the television.......not sure whether I have missed Jonnie Peacock in the 100 metres?
Are you watching?
