Did you listen to any of the Byrd Mass, Rusty? Renaissance polyphonic music is one of my absolute favourite genres. Byrd and Tallis are pre-eminent amongst many great Englsih exponents; though they probably don't quite consistently match Palestrina (Italian) or Victoria (Spanish), though Tallis's "40 part motet" Spem in alium is generally regarded as the climax of Renaissance polyphony - go on, have a listen:

Yes, the "eccentric" Fakenham folk are looking forward to seeing Victoria!
She will need as many rides as she can get before Cheltenham.
She is lucky that Paul Nicholls is looking after her.
An excellent trainer. He trained the great Kauto Star and Denman. She will be fine with him.
I am supporting Victoria. Nina can manage without my support for one race!
One thing I can guarantee about Vic is, that no matter what happens at Cheltenham, there will be tears!
She is a very emotional lass.
Did I tell you the tale about her and her great Aussie rival, Anna Meares? They battled for years on the track, literally.
Lots of elbows flying and crashes etc.
After Vic rode her final race at the London Games against Anna, they had a coffee for the first time, put the racing behind them, and spoke about wedding dresses!
Be great if Anna came to Cheltenham.

I was once persuaded by friends to go to a Runrig gig in Manchester. When I saw two drum kits on the stage, I feared the worst..........and it occurred!

I'm not against the concept - we're great fans of Steeleye Span and Fairport Convention (who don't seem to be coming to Burnley for the first time for at least 30 years this spring!), but I didn't like Runrig. (My wife and I did play and sing in a fairly amateurish electric folk rock band for a while.)

I do, however, have some idea what their name signifies!

Yes, you did tell me the story about she and Anna discussing wedding dresses! Good for them - putting rivalry behind them!
I have heard that Anna now misses the competition between the two of them? She considered that it helped give her an 'edge' in competitive cycling races.
You and Chris have lost me with your talk of rock bands ( are they rock bands?)

Just returned from a lovely day in London- great lunch in Champagne Charlie's and two exhibitions, one at Somerset House and one at 2, Temple Place. There was a taxi demo on- lots of streets packed with taxis not going anywhere for 2 hours. Lots of cross people on buses caught up in it all.
Got stuck on the tube on the way back though- passenger taken ill and all trains west cancelled so had to do roundabout route and missed bus, which may earn me a large fine for overstaying parking. So wish you could pay in arrears, as at Cheltenham.
