I too hated school but I was expected to succeed so I did but going to university in the late 5os and early 60s was hard work and the discipline was very harsh but we learnt I worked in Further Education for 20 years and was appalled at the lack of basic education the students had some could not really read or write and a book was some kind of punishment The standard has slipped so much I cannot see the way to change it.The students see sports stars and musicians making millions and feel the three Rs dont matter anymore,being a Librarian I felt that the age of the book was gone and there is nothing to replace it

Elle, at worst you will have to reconfigure the Adblock.
But if you switch Hudl off and then on, it should be OK.
At least for a while.
I had a spells where ads were getting through and reconfiguring became a pest.
Then, I learned if I installed Firefox, it was an add-on, in the Firefox settings.
So, that is where I am now.
No more problems R us!
I have no probs with emails, though I rarely use them.

Elle, I have discovered, too, that in Hudl keyboard settings, there is something called "voice typing".
Is this something I should run a mile from?

Yes, this is what is happening - the ads come and go as I log on or off - or switch pages. But it's been perfectly fine for months - just troublesome since yesterday. I'll see what happens tomorrow , before I try to reinstall.
Maybe I'll try Firefox.....altho I use IE on my desk top. But then you use that on your laptop, don't you?
Re emails - I can send them , I just cannot access what's arrived! No idea why, this happened about the same time as the ads appeared - maybe I've done something catastrophic! (wouldn't be surprised!)
Will have my daughter check it all out if I haven't solved it by next Saturday when she's coming over.

what is voice typing? haven't come across that?

Thanks, Rusty and Chris. I am actually quite a stickler in some areas of punctuation, grammar etc, but I get infuriated by some of the rules that aren't (and weren't) rules.
