Rusty, the Five Families are the Mafia gangs, aren't they? I don't know much about them? I'm trying to think of the big bosses but can only come up with Tommy Lucchese? Was Lucky Luciano one of them?
I am sure you will be able to tell me?
Yes, you told me that Lyn MacDonald lives in London. but didn't you say it was in North London - or did I dream that bit?
Now, who was it who went out to get the eccles cakes?
I do remember she was in her nineties.....?
Oh dear, my memory........
Funny the tricks memory plays on you... I can remember something that happened when I was about three years old, but cannot remember something that just occurred last week!

Elle, yes, the five main families in New York.
Luciano, was the main man in one, after the Castellammerese War (spelling?).
He, Ben Siegel, and Lansky etc killed Joe the Boss Masseria and Salvatore Maranzano, to bring peace.
Yes, Lucchese (Three Finger Brown) still has a Family named after him. Some other bosses were Tony Accardo, Carlo Gambino, Joe Profaci, Joe Bonnano, Vito Genovese and Albert Anastasia. Lucky Luciano brought all the families together. There are 785 pages in this book!
Luciano got deported, eventually. He was a very clever man. I am up to the bit where Joe Colombo gets whacked.
Lynn MacDonald. Yes, she lives in North London, but I have thought of that.
Get you a tram to Croydon and then you can walk the rest. You like walking!
Sister Mary Stollard went out for Eccles cakes for her special visitor.
Take you, your book, and she will sign it?

Rusty, I must remember never to ask you if you "know the way to San Jose".....!
I never thought that I would meet anyone worse at Geography than I am.......
However, I strongly suspect that you are doing this on purpose....????
(Croydon is South of here..... in completely the opposite direction to North London!
It would be a very roundabout trip to visit Lyn MacD!
I shall remain calm and collected.....)
Since our visit to the park this afternoon, I have heard that plans may be afoot to overcome the pikey problem.... the local Council may be going to install a barrier across the (open) gates (hallelujah) plus, one assumes, a park official to 'man' it?
I don't know why this wasn't done earlier? it surely wasn't rocket science to come up with a feasible solution?
But then, it has yet to happen........fingers crossed though.......
"Ladies who lunch" day tomorrow, followed by a visit from youngest grandson, who is coming for his tea, while his mum and dad go out to celebrate their wedding anniversary!
So a good day to which to look forward!

Oh!
I thought Croydon was part of London and you were part of Kent? I presumed you would go "up" to London?
I think you are creating obstacles!
What about Underground? That any good?
Hope you are not evolving into The Times and expecting me to know all about London!
I had not heard of the crows or knew what the Eye was etc. I knew about the swans though.
I am not sure, at all, that "pikey" is an acceptable word?
A wee man at a barrier won't keep them out! They will find a gap in a fence or whatever.
Did you know this is World Elephant Day?
I like elephants, and donkeys.

Hi rusty
Ilike elephants to,when we lived in India it was normal to see elephants and seeing one bulldozing her way through a small market taking stuff as she barged along was hilarious, especially people shaking towels at her to stop her,but how much longer will they still be around

Hello Everyone,

I have actually 'adopted' an elephant through World Wide Fund; It is no more than another way of making a donation really, but I love elephants (I collect miniture versions) and have adopted on paper KIRUBA, a 20years old female.

I would never wear Ivory, no matter how beautiful it is.
