Hi, Rusty!
It is good that your radiator is sorted out, as you will be needing your heating on, in this cold weather!
Didn't you have a problem with a valve only a short while ago?
Or am I misremembering?
The printer itself is fine. - it would tell me, were it requiring an ink refill; it even specifies which colour! - and it was copying and printing successfully, independently of the computer.
What it failed to do was connect to the computer, and print the screen shots that John sends.
If you recall, it did this one day last week, too?
Anyway, I switched the printer off..... and then restarted everything about five minutes ago....
And all is functioning normally again now!
Presumably some sort of technical glitch?
"Paver's shoes"?
What are they?

Hello, Elle!
Yes, this the third visit this year about the valve.
A pin is sticking in the valve.
The usual cause is sediment in the system.
That's good your printing machine is working again.
Great how switching off, then on, often sorts things!
Pavers is a shoe shop chain.
On Sky there are several shopping channels.
Pavers is one of them.

Good afternoon, Rusty!
Well, let's hope that this time the valve is finally sorted!
Did the engineer not suggest simply replacing it with a new one?
Ah, so "Paver's" is a shoe company!
I was wondering what especial type of shoes a "paver" wore?
And why you wanted a pair like him!
Mystery solved!
Now, remember my "missing" parcel.... and how I waited in for it , and it never arrived?
I have just heard back from the company......and am now told that the pet food was duly dispatched from them.....but that DPD lost it en route!
Anyway, the upshot is that I have requested a replacement ASAP!
Let us hope that it gets here safely this time!

Hello, Elle!
We shall see what happens with the valve!
My son offered to replace it before.
Just takes a minute to do.
Anyway....!
Yes, Pavers headquarters are in York, I believe.
We have a branch in town here.
Yes, let's hope that the pet food arrives soon!
Is your printer co-operating yet?

Hi, Rusty!
I am just home from a walk.
We were caught in the (totally unforecasted ) rain!
( Is there such a word as "unforecasted"?)
Interestingly there are now SIX goslings!
No one knows where the six one came from?
Maybe it's "Adopt a gosling" day?
Yes, the printer seems fine at the moment.
I never got around to finishing the crossword, though, as I was chatting to my friend and neighbour for quite a while.
Did you order any shoes?

Hello, Elle!
Been dry all day here!
That's odd about the goslings, surely?
Wonder where the sixth one came from?
No, I have not ordered shoes.
I would be best going into town, but I dislike that.
No rush, though.
I did the puzzle online today.
No paper, I stayed in for the gas engineer.

Good evening, Rusty!
Yes, very strange about the sixth gosling.
It is the talk of the park!
I agree that it is best to go to the shop, and try on the shoes, before buying a pair.
That way you can be sure that they fit properly, and will be comfortable.
If you do not like the idea of going into town, can you not combine the shoe shop visit with something else that you would like?
How about a visit to the "new" V & A ?
I don't think you have been there yet, have you?
Is the V & A situated anywhere near to Paver's shoe shop?
Just an idea if the two are close to each other.....
Wet here, still, and becoming much colder.

Hello, Elle!
I probably will go down town one day.
My grandchildren say there is not much to see in the V&A.
That's their opinion, anyway.
When they were there, they said the visitors were very taken with the views to the road bridge and across the river.
There are other shoe shops in town.
Pavers would not be my first choice, though.
"Sky Spooky" is a pay-to-view channel, so I have scrubbed that!

Hi, Rusty!
That is disappointing about the V & A.......it sounded so promising, when I initially read all about it.
Going to town does sound your best option , though, if you want a choice of shoe shops?
Personally, I hate buying shoes! I have such peculiar feet!
How does a "Pay -to -View" channel work?
I cannot understand how one can be "charged" for an individual viewing?
I definitely don't seem to be moving with the times!

Hello, Elle!
The V&A is very successful according to press reports, but probably not for young folks.
I had a good idea my young ones would not be interested in museums.
But they would be very enthusiastic about the ice cream they had afterwards!
With 'Sky Spooky' you pay extra for it, over and above the normal Sky TV package subscription.
I am looking for ways to be paying less, not more!
