Hello, Elle!
I seem to remember an Aussie girl, Cathy Freeman, possibly, who ran in a skinsuit with a hood, I think?
Or is my mind awry?
I think Shelly-Ann is fast enough without going all high tech and streamlined!
I meant the Elite League ice hockey teams, Elle.
Think Guildford would be your nearest.
The others in England are at Nottingham, Coventry, Manchester, and Sheffield.
Though I am sure Streatham would be excellent, too, but perhaps a slightly lower standard.
Andy Murray has won the European Open.
He beat Stan Wawrinka in the final.
Yes, the young ones and my son have said "Goodnight".
A bit like nightfall on Walton's Mountain, here!

Hi, Rusty!
No, you are indeed remembering correctly!
Cathy Freeman did wear some type of body suit with a hood.
I had forgotten all about that!
I think she was wearing it when she won a Gold medal at the 2000 Olympic Games, held in Sydney.
Ah, I misunderstood about the Elite League Ice hockey teams!
But at least I learnt about nearby sporting venues as a result!
It sounds as though Andy Murray is back on form.
It is good that his health problems are seemingly behind him.
As you know, I never saw "The Waltons", although you have told me a fair bit about them......
I think it's great the way you all say "Goodnight" just like "John -Boy" and family!
And now I'll my own twopennorth, as I am away to my bed!
"G' night"!

Oops. Rusty, our posts crossed!
Thank you for the picture of Cathy.
Yes, she looks much as I remembered.
Good night again!

Good morning, Elle!
Seems dry, at least, outside!
I have a couple of tasks to do this morning.
A bit of driving to do!
Andy is making progress and I hope it continues.
I liked "The Waltons".
Erin Walton was my favourite, and John-Boy.
I agree with your comments on another thread about the folk who criticise the clues/setters.
I think in a lot of cases it's because they can't see how the clue works, so it's the setters' fault!
Unfair, in my opinion!

Rusty, my sisters and I were also great fans of 'The Waltons'. Not only did we do the 'Goodnight...' thing, but we all doubled our names, so that we could be like John Boy, Jim Bob and Mary Ellen!

Hello, Malone!
Glad to hear you loved "The Waltons", too!
It is still being shown on TV, on one of the more obscure Sky channels.
"Little House on the Prairie" was a favourite of mine, too!

Rusty, I'm scared to watch some of these repeats of old shows - just in case my memories get tarnished! One of my sisters loved 'Little House..', but I wasn't a huge fan. Many of the old shows are linked together in my mind, but I don't know if they were on TV over a period of years. As well as the ones mentioned, I remember loving 'Bonanza' and 'Casey Jones' ( a-steamin' and a-rollin') and 'Batman'...

Hello, Malone!
I discovered on YouTube that the cast of The Waltons did many reunions.
They would all meet up and shoot the breeze about their time on the show.
They all seemed to be genuine friends and said they had a great time making the show.
I liked "Bonanza", too. Hoss was my favourite in that!

Good morning, Rusty!
Wet here yet again!
Very poggy walk this morning!
I think, though, that we are promised the rain will stop by lunchtime.
I am not sure whether you are about?
Or off carrying out your few tasks?
I am glad that you agree with the comments I made about the criticism currently being levied at compilers of crosswords ( in particular, made regularly on a Sunday against the Everyman setter, usually by the same persons)
I feel it unjust for a would-be solver to blame it all on the crossword setter, when he/ she (the solver) falls short of answering a clue!
Or they cannot successfully parse it!
One's own ineptitude does not make the clue a "bad" one", or the setter to blame!
I myself am forever struggling with the daily Times clues....but I know I have a lot still to learn.
Hopefully, I am gradually making progress.
Ok, rant finished!
There is still no sign, or word of my pet shop delivery...
I am going to try to chase it up .....
