Hello, Elle!
Rain here!
I only ever had Windows 7, but in truth, it was capable of far more advanced stuff than I was needing.
That's why I like my Chromebook.
It is very simple and very fast. I am a fan!
Well done on your puzzle.
Collins has "outdoorsy", too.
I am quite happy with it as a word.
I half-think I may have came across it before.

Hi, Rusty!
Well, fingers crossed, but so far , this latest Windows Update at least seems to have left everything in order.....
Remember the chaos that ensued after the previous " Update" when I lost my Inbox, Sent box, Junk box etc., plus all my personal Folders?
It was a veritable nightmare sorting all that out!
Right.... rain has stopped.... and I am about to go for a walk, culminating , I think, in a visit to the Cobblers to pick up my boots!
I'll be back in a bit.......

Good evening, Rusty!
We are home again, only just making it before it started to go dark.
The afternoon turned out so pleasant, that we drove further out then we had intended, and visited one of our more distant large parks.
We missed walking by the sea......I should love to live on the coast......but a number of our parks have lakes and /or rivers, so I guess that is the next best thing!
The dog seemed happy enough with her surroundings, anyway!
Time now for dinner......

Good evening, Elle!
Did you get your boots from the cobbler?
I have a pair of shoes which could do with a cobblers attention, or an opinion if a repair is possible or feasible.
Both soles have developed cracks.
I'll nip in and speak to the cobbler later in the week.
You seem to be well off for parks, anyway!

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I collected my boots from the cobblers before we went for our walk, as I thought the shop might be closed on our way back.
He did a great job; I am very pleased with them.
I hope you can get your shoes fixed......is this the pair whose soles you tried previously sticking with super glue?
I'm reading "The Divide" by Nicholas Evans, who wrote "The Horse Whisperer" and "The Smoke Jumper".
All good reads.
How are you getting on with Michelle O?

Hello, Elle!
No, this is a good pair of shoes which should be repaired properly, if possible.
I'll read a chapter of Michelle later, I think..
I have been watching the European cycling track championships from Apeldoorn, on EuroSport.
Needless to say, there is not a cheep on BBC Sport website about any results.
Emily Nelson has won gold in women's scratch race.
Seems chilly this evening.

Hi, Rusty!
Yes, I agree that if it is an expensive pair of shoes, it is worth getting them repaired expertly.
I always prefer to take our shoe/ boot repairs to the "proper" cobblers rather than to a "quick fix" heel bar.
It is worth both the time and the money.
You seem to get good value from EuroSport ?
I think the BBC's coverage of Sport has become rather poor.
Is this because of the competition?
I am unsure how it all works......do the TV companies compete in paying for Sports coverage?

Hello, Elle!
I'll visit the cobbler on Friday.
EuroSport is fine for me.
It shows minority sports like cycling and skiing, which suits me fine.
There is lots of competition for televised sport.
SkySports have around six sports channels.
BT Sport have four sports channels, and there are other sports channels, too.
And ITV show the horse racing.
So, BBC are up against it, regarding sport.
The TV companies spend vast sums of money to cover the football, especially.

Hi, Rusty!
My Goodness, I hadn't realised that so many Sports Channels existed!
We ourselves don't have any alternative to the BBC and ITV coverage .
I could certainly wish to view more Athletics and Tennis......
I think the BBC does cover - if frugally - most of the Athletics events...but unfortunately very little tennis is shown.
But we couldn't afford to pay for EuroSport or Sky, in addition to the BBC TV licence for which we shall now have to continue paying!
It's a tough old world!

Hello, Elle!
There were at least two tennis tournaments being shown today on the sports channels.
I know Coco was in one of them.
I'd say there are around twenty sports channels that I get.
But, I rarely watch them, except for cycling and Alpine skiing, on EuroSport, and golf on SkyGolf channel.
I often watch the racing on ITV, too.
And sometimes there are good sporting documentaries on BT Sport.
