Hello, Elle!
Very pleased for Alexa making the final!
Very clever dogs!
Not keen on the Merseygirls getting there, though.
I thought Jai McDowall sounded a lot like Tom Jones!
But I would have voted for Gao and Liu to make the final.
Thoughts?

Crossed posts, Elle!
I agree about the MerseyGirls.
There were more talented acts than them on the show.
That's the "super fans" for you!

Hi, Rusty!
I am thinking it is as well that Ant and Dec voted for Alexa....
I wouldn't have trusted the "Super Fans" to do so!
I am seriously doubting their judgement?
Is it the same set of Super voters each week, do you know?
Yes, Gao and Liu are very accomplished.
They came third in my choices..... Alexa and her dogs first, then Paul Zerdin, the ventriloquist, and then the acrobatic dancers.
I also liked Jai McDowall.
A better show on the whole (apart from Kseniya ) this week than last, don't you think?

Good morning, Elle!
I don't know if it is the same "super fans" each show.
The judges showed looks of concern, I think, at the fans choices.
The MerseyGirls were a so-so act.
Jai McDowall was a good singer, but another hard luck story.
I think, too, the judges are a lot less critical of the acts than they used to be.
More like fans.
Anyway, that's it for another week!

Good morning, Rusty!
You were up bright and early this morning!
A glorious day here.....bright sunshine and blue sky... but definitely chilly out at 8C!
Marvellous walking weather!
I love going out in the early morning.
I shall make a coffee, eat my apple and cheese...and do the Everyman crossword.
Then it will be time to watch the Elite men's and women's races in the Great North Run!

Hi, Rusty!
Did you watch the Great North Run from Newcastle to South Shields?
Very exciting!
Brigid Kosgei won the Elite Women's race.
The two Masai sisters came next, then Mary Keitany.
Britain's Charlie Purdue did well...she ran the fastest ever time for a female GB athlete in a Half Marathon!
Mo Farah took his sixth title for the Men's race.....Callum Hawkins came in fourth.
David Weir won the wheel chair race for the eighth time!
There was a massive turnout!

Hello, Elle!
Lovely afternoon here.
I only saw a wee bit of the Great North Run, then put cycling on.
Then Miss ATW turned up and we were gossiping.
She had more pics of the girls at the Food and Flower Festival yesterday.
She is away home now to see how her soup is getting on.
I've never heard of a soup kettle before?

Hi, Rusty!
I've only heard of a soup kettle as used commercially.
It is a kind of large pot, or cauldron, used for cooking/ keeping warm/ heating up/ large quantities of soup, usually to be served in restaurants ...or maybe in a "soup kitchen"?
Are you saying that Miss ATW has one at home?
Then they obviously must come in smaller sizes!
What cycling event have you been watching?

Hello, Elle!
Miss ATW got her soup kettle from her Dad for her birthday present.
Think he bought it in Curry's.
She is making soup and sandwiches for work tomorrow.
I was watching the Tour of Spain, and the Tour Of Britain.

Hi, Rusty!
I have been doing a bit of research ... it seems that one can buy electric soup kettles that you can plug in and use on a kitchen work top, as well as the type that go on top of the stove.
These can be available in varying small sizes; an average being around one litre capacity, aimed at soup for two to four people.
Interestingly, one can also buy them with a "smoothie" setting, so that healthy fruit drinks can be made , too!
I know you like making "smoothies"!
At present we make our soup in a large saucepan on top of the cooker.
That works well, but might be nice to compare options?
I might take a look when I next go to Currys....
