Update, Elle!
Here is Sissel singing "You Raise Me Up".
What a voice, and a smile to match!
I think Emmylou has competition!

Good morning, Rusty!
It is a pleasant day here, but chilly, as yet.
It was a very cold night.
We have had the c/heating on for an hour this morning!
And the acorns are falling from the trees!
I think Autumn might be coming.......
I wondered whether the ospreys might have left...I have been checking the nest, but it was always empty.
Thank you for the second clip of Sissel.......she really is superb.
"You raise me up" is marvellous.....
And I am playing "Bridge Over Troubled Water", as I write this.......
I now need to sort out some problems my husband has with his email account....
"The blind leading the blind" comes to my mind!
Still, I shall see what I can do!

Good morning, Elle!
It is a lovely day here but a definite chill in the air!
Not like August!
Cherry reckons all the birds have flown.
Surprised me, for Laddie is usually several days later than the chicks leaving.
I agree, Sissel, is a wonderful singer!
I am glad we came across her!
Her name, Sissel, is a Norwegian variant of Cecilia.
And, I think, is Saint Cecilia not the patron saint of music?
Then she is well named!
They do "Bridge Over Troubled Water" just superbly, for me!
There are loads of videos on YouTube of her.
One she did with the Chieftains, and she is singing in Irish.
She is the real deal, all right!
Good luck with the email account!

Hi, Rusty!
I am very proud of myself!
I have successfully sorted out my husband's problems with his email account.
I had to go into "Settings" and reset most of the options...... and all should now be well!
You are right, Cecilia is the patron saint of music...so yes, Sissel is indeed aptly named!
I think she has a lovely voice......her notes are so pure.
I much preferred her singing solo, though, as in "Shenandoah" and "You Raise Me Up", to her duet with Russell Watson.
I liked HER part in "Bridge Over Troubled Water" but not HIS.......his singing came over (to me) as too intrusive?
I really like her....I shall try to find more songs.....but I prefer Simon and Garfunkel's version of "Bridge,..."

Hello, Elle!
Well done on fixing the email account!
Russell Watson was smarmy on the duet, I thought.
Later today, I am going to look for her singing with Andrea Bocelli, and she has sang with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
I have heard of them, but I do not know if they would appeal to me or not.
I looked Sissel up on Wikipedia and her achievements are astonishing.
She has sang in umpteen languages, including Japanese, Maori, Latin, Russian, etc.
There are dozens of videos on YouTube, Elle.
She probably has her own channel.
Had a tweet from the loch.
The resident birds have migrated, but this morning there were FIVE ospreys in the skies above the loch.
Interesting!

Good afternoon, Rusty!
I found it disappointing not to see the ospreys leave gradually.....
More usually, they tend to go one by one, over a period of time ...and we see the others in between, giving us time to prepare for yet another to migrate.
But this year, I haven't seen a single bird in the nest since Lassie went....
I realise, of course, that they have not all left at once, but more probably have not been in the nest, but, rather, sitting around on nearby branches.
But I feel cheated somehow!
I have been asked by the Holiday Agency, to pay the remainder of our holiday rental.
I have done so, although I had been give to understand that the money was due on the 26th.
No matter, I guess.......it is done with now.
We are going for a week on October 5th.
(I have the penny arcades to which to look forward!
And also a trip on a steam train..... which BB tells me is a "must"!)

Hello, Elle!
Laddie has not been seen since Friday, so they are pretty sure the birds have all left.
Just as well getting the payment out of the way.
Any news from your plumbers?

Hi, Rusty!
No, no news from the plumbers!
I don't think they were really expecting the part to come by today...just hopeful!
This delay is rather a nuisance, as we shall be in and out over the next couple of days, due to prior commitments.
So it could prove difficult arranging a time for the plumbers to come back and finish the job.
Maybe Thursday? We shall see.....
I think it is going to pour with rain!
It has gone very dark......I have the electric light on.....and I think I heard a rumble of thunder!

Hello, Elle!
The plumbers may have to juggle jobs about when they get the part....can't be helped, though.
How is your weather now?
It is a lovely evening here!
I saw the film "Titanic", years ago, and liked it.
I remember very well the evocative vocals during the film, and did not realise until today that it was Sissel who performed the vocals.
Well, I'd never heard of her until yesterday!
She has certainly impressed me!

Hi, Rusty!
It is a lovely sunny evening!
The thunder lasted for about ten minutes.......but the rain never came.
Yes, Sissel is indeed amazing.......and fancy its being she who sang in "Titanic"!
I do not think I gave thought at the time, as to who did the background singing.
Now......I did not like "Titanic"!
I was very disappointed.....
The "effects" in the film were wonderful........and appreciated ......but I did not enjoy the story.......
I had previously seen "A Night to Remember", which I really liked...and had not expected that "Titanic" would be a pure "fantasy"......a totally unrealistic portrayal, rather than a (more) factual relating of events.
I knew "Titanic" was basically a love story..... but I had expected it to stay within the boundaries of realism!!
